Is this event only for central Indiana trumpeters?

No.  All trumpet players are welcome.  We expect participants from Fort Wayne, Toledo, South Bend, Terre Haute, Chicago, and Louisville.

What if I am a beginner?

Some of the music we perform is within the reach of beginners.  Some is more challenging, but you can learn a lot by sitting next to a more advanced player.  Most years about half the participants are school-aged students.  Advanced musicians look upon this as a brotherhood (or sisterhood) and are eager to share tips and techniques with less advanced players.

Is there a participation fee?

There are no participation fees.  We welcome donations to help us cover the costs of this program and the many other educational activities of the Phillips Music Guild.  To support our efforts, please click here.

How long has Tinsel Trumpets been going on?

The first Tinsel Trumpets event was held in 2013 and has been presented annually since then.  We look forward to helping other communities develop Tinsel Trumpet  events in their areas.  To get other Tinsel Trumpets events started, please use our Contact Us form.
